In December of 2012 I was in a car accident that left me in a very physically and emotionally vulnerable place. I now have a very large scar on my left leg and lymphedema now because of it. I struggled with body issues already and then had to deal with a disfigurement that would change my everyday life.
When I met Bree, she approached me about modeling EB products. I have never modeled before. She told me she believed in her product and in me. I made excuses like I have a scar on my leg... and more. She wasn’t havin' it. I faced my fears and did the shoot.
The EB product was so comfortable, it helped me feel comfortable, confident and free while doing this shoot.
This shoot changed my life and how I view my body. I have never felt more comfortable and confident in my life! When I saw the pictures for the first time - I cried. I felt like we were able to capture my true personality and not focus on what my body looked like. I felt confident, comfortable, and sexy. The photographer said I was glowing.
I recently had the opportunity to perform at a Jimmy Kimmel after-party where I was a guest of a Rock-n-roll band called Strange Majik. They invited me to be on a single with them that we released a few weeks ago, called STAR SEED and we performed it together live. Jimmy knows how to throw a party!
I knew I was going to be walking around and networking at the event as well and I wanted to feel like the best version of myself. I wore a sheer mesh dress and underneath I wore my EB Defy Bra in black. The support on my back area is one of my favorite things because it makes everything look so smooth! The girls were up and out too! I shined at the party and felt super confident with what I was wearing. People were complimenting my outfit and look. Evelyn Bobbie definitely helped me look and feel like a ROCKSTAR that night!
I love that the EB collection is not only body positive, they have invented something that everyone can wear no matter what body type, and helps you have stronger posture.
I feel my most beautiful when I'm performing on stage. The audience gives me this euphoric sense of self that only positive powerful pure love energy can do. But I don't always feel that way. In the past, I've held myself back from making moves in the industry because of insecurities about "my image".
When I looked at the photos in EB, I could still see my flaws. But even with my flaws, the photos were undeniably beautiful. I just couldn’t hate what I saw anymore. What a moment that was for me!
This is the first time I have seen myself like this in my life: scars and flaws are what make you special. Keep fighting for what you want because life is so short and so precious.
Being plus size and having scars does not make you undeserving of love.
