For the Busty Woman Who Has Never Found a Bra That Fits

For the Busty Woman Who Has Never Found a Bra That Fits

Evelyn & Bobbie founder Bree on 33 months of design, 119 wear testers, and the one customer we built the Busty Bra for.

It’s almost certainly not the first time you’ve heard me say this: I am a 34G. And you probably already know that for me this is personal. My bra struggles were so severe that I started a bra company.

Throughout my 10-year journey of growing this company, we have made a range of beautiful styles that are truly life-changing for so many women.

But there’s one set of customers I haven’t been able to stop thinking about.

This customer understands, perhaps more profoundly than any other woman, precisely why I quit my job to start this company. She has deep divots in her shoulders. She gets tension headaches from the weight of her breasts. She almost certainly has back pain. And every time she reaches for a bra, she already knows it will let her down. The bra in her hand is already a disappointment, before she even puts it on.

She has dealt with the emotional and physical weight of her boobs her whole life. Since she was a teenager, when they showed up overnight.

She has avoided so many activities, turned away from unwanted stares, and probably even considered a breast reduction. More. Than. Once.

But on another level, she also loves her body. She appreciates her innate beauty. She longs to just be. To be Supported. Lifted. Held.

Why Don't Standard Bras Fit a Small Frame with a Full Bust?

This is the Busty Customer.

She has a small frame. And she has a full, heavy, voluminous bust. That fateful combination...

She does not, however, have a bra made exactly for her. Instead, she has a drawer full of bras that all have one of two features: either the band rides up or the cups overflow. Or both.

Until now.

33 Months of Design for One Woman

We see you. We have seen you all along. And now, at long last, we are at a stage as a company where we were able to dedicate resources, countless hours, round after round of fit, and wear testing, and true heart and soul from our product and marketing teams, to make something just exactly, perfectly, for you.

And now, after 33 months of dedicated design, I think I can say for sure, that for myself and for the Product Design team at Evelyn & Bobbie, this might be one of the products that we are most proud of.

What We Believe

We are proud of it because it represents not just what we are capable of as a design team, but also what we stand for as a company. We believe that you are beautiful, just the way you are. In fact, we believe that you are perfect. We believe that you deserve products made for you. We believe that your standards should be high and should be met. And we are willing to put the work in to show you how much we care.

Why We Pushed the Launch Date

There were points in this process where we had something sellable. Good reviews in early testing, solid numbers, a version we could have shipped. We didn't, because sellable wasn't the same as right, and the women in our fitting room had spent their whole lives being sold to instead of truly served something right for them.

‘Halfway there’ is never good enough on this team. So the launch moved, more than once. Every time, it was because the bra wasn't finished, not because the work had stalled. From a revenue and planning perspective - it was a hard decision to make. For the bra this customer has been waiting her whole life for - it was absolutely the right thing to do.

Who This Bra Was Built For

If you have a small band and a larger cup, and you've spent years adjusting, tugging, and changing your outfit to hide a bra that doesn’t really fit, I want you to know that's not a flaw in your body. It's a gap in an industry that stopped trying to close it.

We spent 33 months and 119 fittings to make this right, just for you.

You Go First

If you are one of these beauties, who has struggled to find a bra that fits your rib cage and your bust, I am so excited for you to try this bra. We are eagerly awaiting your reviews, your emails, your phone calls, and your comments.

We hope that you will join the 119 amazing women who are built like you, who helped us create this product.  Our logo symbolizes the inextricable link between beauty and purpose. This product embodies that promise.

Finally, YOU get to walk into the room first. (And if you’re Busty, you know exactly what I mean by that.)

Stand Tall and Lead from the Heart.

P.S. One final note of gratitude goes out to Holly at the Pencil Test in Portland. She is herself a Busty gal, and shared valuable perspectives with EB as we worked on this product.
