Happy Mother's Day
I love being a mother, And, if I’m honest, some days I am totally embarrassed about the way I show up. I want to be the kind of mother who uses her words wisely, fosters humor and joy, and never loses her cool… Well, the best of intentions, right? But here’s one thing I am incredibly proud of as a mom: our oldest daughter is wearing the new Bobbie Scoop now. The timing worked out just perfectly for her needs and the launch of our new XS size. As a Mom, it means the world to me that my daughters will grow up wearing Evelyn & Bobbie. Our girls will always have a healthy, ergonomic, experience-centered bra, designed for them as they are (not how some billboard tells them they ought to be). That means something. This Mother’s Day, I just want to say “Wow, Mom.” That goes for mothers, aunties, friends–however your personal ‘mothering-side' shows up. Loving and caring for people can be hard. It can feel downright impossible some days: just know that you are enough. I also want to send a special shout out to the mothers who work at Evelyn & Bobbie: Getting. Shit. Done. And we see it! And last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my own mother: Mom, thank you for always telling me that whatever I wanted to achieve I could–with hard work and tenacity. Thank you for fostering creativity in our home. Thank you for getting up at 3:30am to fry donuts for $4.25 an hour, so we could make ends meet. Thank you for being a honey badger, for being yourself, wholeheartedly. You were the perfect person to be my mother. I’m so grateful.
