Care & Keeping of Evelyn & Bobbie Bras

Loulou here from the Customer Experience team!

I wanted to send a quick note on caring for our bras, and getting the most out of your investment.

Washing Guidelines

Our bras can be machine washed (yay!) on cold, with like colors. If necessary, you may use non-chlorine bleach. Prior to washing, we recommend removing the pads and washing separately. This just helps ensure that they do not get folded up or twisted in the bra pocket, which could result in creases. I always advise using a wash bag for your intimates to help protect them from any potential snagging. Lay flat to dry, out of direct sunlight.

Understanding the Material

Our bras (and most intimates) contain elastin, which is what allows them the incredible stretch and recovery that makes them so unique. Over time, elastin breaks down with any type of heat, including dryers and natural sunlight. But by drying your bras naturally, you’ll significantly extend the life of your bra!

Bra Rotation for Extended Lifespan

Another insider tip to extend the lifespan of your favorite intimates is to get a good rotation going! We all know how it feels to finally get that *one* perfect bra. You want to wear it every day. Why go back to uncomfortable underwires or compressing sports bras? We know, our bras aren’t cheap (good quality rarely is!), but we always tell customers that once they find their ideal style and size they should invest in at least three. Having at least three bras in your rotation will help extend the lifespan of all of them!

Managing Older Bras

If you do find your older bras are starting to lose shape, some of our customers recommend retiring those styles to “lounge bras” for around the house. Though the lift may have lessened, they are as comfortable as ever and still have plenty of life left in them. I have been working at Evelyn & Bobbie for over 3 years and have never had to dispose of a single EB bra!

As always, if you have any specific questions about Evelyn & Bobbie bras and how to best care for them, the Customer Experience team is here to help!
